Established in 1951, SIS has a long tradition of education in English and is situated in the heart of the beautiful capital of Sweden. We are offering the following internationally accredited programmes: International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP).

We are an internationally accredited school and our accreditation bodies include Council of International Schools (CIS), International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), Middle States Association (MSA) amongst others. We are also affiliate members and cooperate closely with European Council of International Schools (ECIS), Nordic Network of International schools, Association of Swedish IB schools (ASIB) and several other professional institutions in Europe and beyond.

The SIS vision is to be a model international school that operates according to the highest educational standards and principles. We want to provide our pre-K to grade 12 students with an academically, socially and personally safe and stimulating multicultural environment that will allow them to fully develop their academic and other potentials, as well as become responsible global citizens.

Our mission is to deliver internationally recognised curricula that empower our students to embrace the challenges in the areas of academics, arts and sports, and in interpersonal and intercultural encounters within and outside school. We want our students to strive for excellence in everything they do, to feel valued and to value others.

Our graduating students consistently achieve strong results on standardised international exams and enrol into universities of their choice. Our middle years students are already confident communicators who embrace their community service duties. Our primary years students are a playful group of inquirers who increasingly learn how to connect knowledge gained at school with the world around them.

SIS is a 600-student school representing over 60 different nationalities. We have close to 150 members of staff coming from over 20 different countries. Our staff is internationally experienced and dedicated to making our students’ and families’ experience with us fruitful and enjoyable.
